Over the last month have had 2 incidents which throw CEL. Code is 0715 for Input Speed Sensor Malfuction.

What happens is the car makes a loud THUMP, and it feels like I lose 1st gear at the very least. Basically it will not downshift. After about an hour of rest, car drives fine. After about 1 day, CEL goes off. Both times this has happened occurred in practically the same location. I was pulling ot of a gravel lot after dtr’s soccer practice. Could a stone maybe jar the sensor?
